These chairs are almost done, I'm going to spray them with a sealer and then the seats go back on!

I only have three chairs left to prime and that phase is done!! Whoot! I can hardly wait for the next step. Today I cleaned my art room up, still needs a tad more organization. But never the less things are getting done. Lesson learned so far : chairs are alot of work, more than any other furniture piece in my opinion. These chairs I will sell to help pay for a faux school in July. I need to raise $1,500.00 to break even. So I'm going to be super busy! This is good! ;)

Just practicing my photography :)

Progress Report

I have completed one of the set of two chairs in the gold color, and now I want to add one more layer for depth on this set. This is the model piece.

For the set of six chairs, here is the progress I have made on one chair.  Next I will be looking for material to reupholster the seats.  Any pointers out there people let me know I am totally up for suggestions.

More progress to come I have dissembled, cleaned, sanded the remaining chairs, and they are ready to be primed.  I can hardly wait to use my gun.  Hopefully the wind stops soon.

This month has been crazy busy, trying to get these chairs completed has been hard to do.  Today I will be sanding 9 chairs and priming them as well.  I also am going to finish playing with the 3 chairs that I originally started later this afternoon.  Gotta move on to the next phase quick so I can start the next project!

Learning Lessons spilling paint!

Well yesterday was quite the learning experience.  Talk about making a huge mess!!  The Graco Gun I purchased was a wild experience.  I put the piece together, all was working fine until I almost finished the first chair, then all of a sudden a sputtering started to spit out!  This really made me upset, here I am with this new gun and its already giving me a run for my money.  So I proceed to my manual and try to trouble shoot the problem, I go inside tell my husband that there is a problem with the gun (mind you hes napping).  He looks up at me squinting his eyes, and says "did you try to trouble shoot the problem?" I nodded my head and went outside to try it again.  At this point I thought, you know what, I am going to just have to clean it and start over again, no big deal.  So I clean the machine very carefully and read the manual and try round two, press the lever and its just oozing out!  So then I scratch my head some more and run in the house and tell him, "I need your help."  He comes out and starts playing with it as I am telling him how it works and POP!  All the paint just explodes everywhere!  Lol!  So we proceed to clean up and start over from scratch again.  We get the gun to work a little, but then it starts to spit out random spurts as it sprays!  This machine is no fun!  This thing should have worked out perfect the first time.  So I traded it in for a better gun!  Lesson from this, just because something is priced high and is rated the best, doesn't mean that it is the best machine for you project.  This was a $300 gun that was in the paint section, one of the best!  The gun I traded it in for was in the tool section, $50 and recommended by another artist, we will see how it works.  Bare with me people, I will finish these chairs, I hope it only gets better :)
