Yesterday I ran into some troubles with a spray gun that I thought might work for the project I am working on.  The gun required me to thin the paint out and the ratio was unclear because the paint was not the correct product for this gun.  So I talked with my husband about the concerns that I had with this huge issue of running paint.  We decided that it would be appropriate if we purchased a new sprayer.  Mind you this would be my first major purchase for a tool on my own, it was very daunting.  I assumed it would be easy to pick from all the options for the right spray gun for my projects, after a couple hours a selection was decided.  We purchased a Graco X5 spray gun and let me tell you I can't wait to use it!  I watched the tutorial video this morning and I am so thrilled that my project will be completed in half the time it would take rolling or brushing on paint.
 

The Month of MAY

 

For the last couple days I have been busy working on ideas and pieces to start a business.  This would be my second business I have started.  This is all too familiar the amount of work and brainstorming involved.  But frankly I love it!

I am currently working on some chairs at the moment:

 A set of six

The set of six chairs I have to take apart the vinyl material off the chair and prep it for the color I'm going for.  I was thinking an old European finish, white and soft browns.  The material for these chairs I was thinking a canvas material with studs on the the edges might look nice.

 A set of four

 For the set of four chairs I was thinking a black old country distressed finish.

 A set of two

And the set of two chairs I was going for a gold finish on the wood with cracking and using the existing turquoise vinyl material for the seating.

Lastly I am working on some table legs that I am turning into distressed candle holders, these I have primed and added base coat to.  I haven't decided the final look quite yet but I will soon.

Today is a new day!

I have reflected some since yesterday, and have seen what I need to do in order to go to the next step of ways to market myself for finishing furniture and home goods.  I volunteer at a consignment shop and told the owner that I wanted to go to the street fair and thought I would be able to make some big sales.  I also told him I wanted the experience to see if this would be something I would do in the future. I went to the street fair with the possibility for making some sales with all sorts of home goods(maybe to much excitement).  Surprisingly I took more away from the experience than sales and a five dollar bill. I learned what was necessary for me to go into this market of finishing furniture. Thus beginning my journey.
